Richly Scented Candles

Come sniff around…

There are many dissimilar ideas about what is a handmade soap, what is natural soap and what is reasoned organic soap. Claims about neutral pH, french milled soaps, unnatural vs. natural and more, all seem to be widespread and accepted as true, and that may not be the case.

The artistry to making soap is combining the ingredients in just the right proportions. The triple milled process allows for soap that is totally uniform and smooth, without impurities, and is longer lasting than other forms of soap. Specialty soaps can be found at many luxury and import stores, large discount stores, and, of course, in bath and body boutiques. Luxury soaps, however, aren’t a new invention. Triple milled soaps, for example, popular today for their high quality, have been made for centuries.

The frenchmilledsoap.net is a commercial process where soap is made, dried into crystals then rolled three or more times through steel rollers. The repeated milling crushes the crystals turning them into a fine paste. This mixture is then pressed and formed into bars. Removing glycerin from the soap is essential to keep the soap from being stiky and adhering to the rollers. Also, it means that all the soap bars will be identical with no differences in color and form. True milled soap is hard to do if you are not a commercial maker with the steel rollers.

The oils or fats we use to make natural soap can be most any kind of fat or oil. But different oils produce very different kinds of soaps. Coconut oil, for example, produces soap with lots of big, beautiful bubbles. But coconut oil soap cleans so well that it removes the oils from your skin so it feels drying. On the one hand, olive oil soap is opulent and moisturizing, but it makes very tiny bubbles. So, what you do is combine different oils to produce a soap that’s just perfect. Good cleansing of the skin is important especially if you have acne and wish to learn about acne treatments that work.

The soaps are manufactured to exacting old-world standards by skilled craftsmen with the tradition of many years to guide them, using only the purest ingredients, including genuine herbal poultices and the finest essential oils. Every Pre de Provence product is aromatherapeutic, and every products brings a satisfying and pleasant touch to your homeand your day.
